Capt. Derrick Jacobsen; was born and raised in SW Florida in the commercial fishing industry.  Capt. Derrick has made fishing not only his passion, but also his meal ticket for over 30 years.

   "On-the-Water-Knowledge", handed down by three generations of his family in the Florida commercial fishing industry now flow thru his veins, and his days on the water number in the thousands.  One of many skills that he has learned to be most important while making his living on the water is to; "Know the type of fish your looking at"!  Capt. Derrick is a Master of sight fishing, he will amaze you with his ability to determine the exact specie of fish by the way it swims or feeds in the water, even at distances of 300+ yds!  He's also one of the area's most highly sought after Professional Tarpon Guides, he "consistently" finishes in the Top 5 of the Internationally Televised, (PTTS) Professional Tarpon Tournament Series!  He works very hard to ensure his clients receive more than just another expensive boat ride........instead; Capt. Derrick's main goal is to provide every client with a, "Total Fishing Adventure"!

He has combined his commercial fishing knowledge w/guide fishing into an art he calls,  "REDNECK FISHIN SCIENCE", and photo's don't lie, seeing is believing, just check out the  photo gallery  for yourself! From the awesome power of a 7ft Silver-King (Tarpon) sky-rocketing out of the water, to the drag screaming run of a Snook or Redfish, his charters provide anglers w/plenty of heart pounding excitement.

Capt. Derrick is a family oriented charter Captain, who possess the skill & patience to teach anglers of all ages & skill levels; from the seasoned pro to a 5yr old yearning to catch his/her very first fish.         

Coverage Area:  Southwest and West Central Florida                                                                      

Capt. Derrick can accommodate "On the water" pick-ups in his areas which include; Boca Grande, Gasparilla Marina, Bokeelia, Pine Island, Burnt Store, Gasparilla, Cayo Costa, Sanibel, Captiva and many of the out islands.   Capt. Derrick charges $50 to pickup on Captiva, North Captiva, Useppa, Cayo Costa, Cabbage Key, and Palm Island.

Species Targeted:    Capt. Derrick can  consistently target any species of game fish that inhabit the West Central and Southwest Coast of Florida.  His favorites include; Tarpon, Snook, Redfish, Sea Trout, Cobia, Makeral, Shark, & Jack Crevalle.

Sight Seeing & Nature Tours:  Available for personalized sightseeing & nature tours. 

Maximum Anglers:  3 for backcountry/ 4 for Tarpon charters.

Boat #1:  Capt. Derrick runs a 2010 18' Famous Craft Flats Boat powered by an Evinrude Etec 200hp High Output.

Boat #2:  Capt. Derrick also runs a 2010 21' Famous Craft Flats Boat powered by an Evinrude Etec 225hp High Output.

 Capt. Derrick's Famous Craft's are equipped with electric trolling motors, GPS, Fish Finder's, VHF, Cell Phone and Power Pole's & comfortable seating.  They'll both go a fast as you dare to put you on the best fishing spots before anyone else!

Charter includes:  Rod, reels, live, dead & artificial bait, tackle, fishing licenses, sodas & water, ice, fish cleaning & bagging and no fish no pay guarantee.  Our professional and friendly attitude is free of charge.
