Capt Eric Herstedt is a native South Floridian raised on Long Key in the Florida Keys.  It was there that he learned to love the local environment and appreciate the unique and wonderful attributes of the Keys.

Eric began fly fishing at 9 years of age and at 14, caught his first slam, under the guidance of his mentor, Met Master Angler, Marty Arostegui.  From then on, he was "Hooked."  He has caught countless Bonefish, Permit and numerous Tarpon over 100lbs on fly.  Eric continuously honed his skills and in 1999, began his guiding career.  At under 30,  Capt. Eric is undoubtedly one of the best and most sought after, young  light tackle and fly fishing guides in the upper keys and Flamingo area. 

Coverage Area:  South Florida, Miami, Biscayne, The Upper Keys and Flamingo

Species Targeted:    Capt. Eric is a master at putting the sight caster or fly-angler within feet of Giant Tarpon, Bonefish, Permit, Barracuda and even Shark in the crystal clear waters of the Upper Keys.  In addition, he can also target Snook, Redfish and Cobia in Florida Bay and The Everglades National Park.  For the angler looking to just have some fun; Snapper, Grouper, Mackerel and Trout are an easy target in the calm waters of Florida Bay.

Methods:  Capt. Eric is an established Fly-Fisherman and can share his secrets with you.  Behind the poling tower, he can position the Fly Angler to a perfect cast every time.  For those preferring other methods, Capt. Eric is equally versed in guiding his Anglers with Spin or Bait Casting tackle.

Sight Seeing & Nature Tours:  Available for personalized sightseeing & nature tours.
