"Cobia & Tarpon Specialist"

Capt. Joe Lowery  or better known as;"Rodeo Joe" was born and raised in Destin, Florida.  His father commercial fished with some of Destin's founding fathers in the early 40's.  Joe has fished the Choctawhatchee Bay and surrounding backcountry waters for 20 years, while working as a professional guide for 6 years with Destin's original bay fishing company, Backcountry Outfitters.

Joe also adds to his list of accomplishments, Northwest Florida's Bay Slam, which includes catching a cobia, trout and redfish by a single angler.  He has accomplished this five times with charters.

Rodeo Joe's experience and laid back nature will allow everyone to have a fun and action packed fishing day!

Coverage Area:  The Panhandle from Pensacola to Fort Walton and Destin

Species Targeted:    Cobia, Tarpon, Redfish, Sea Trout, Black Drum, Jack Crevalle,  Sheephead, Snapper, Flounder and Bluefish.

Methods:  Spin, Plug & Fly Tackle.  Artificial Lures & Live Bait.   Capt. Joe also specializes in light tackle & fly night night fishing.

Near-shore/Offshore Charters:  Capt. Joe is also available for Nearshore & Gulf Charters, which are especially popular from late March through early May, when the Cobia make a presence in the Destin & Pensacola area, as well as Late June through mid-August for Giant Tarpon.  Near-shore/Offshore Charters are limited to TWO anglers.

Sight Seeing & Nature Tours:  Available for personalized sightseeing & nature tours. 

Maximum Anglers:  Four, Two for Tarpon & Cobia trips.

Boat:  Captain Joe operates a new 22' Cape Horn open fisherman outfitted with a tuna tower for spotting Cobia & Tarpon along Destin's beaches, and a top offering clients the ability to hide from the sun after long battles with the area's gamefish.  The Cape Horn is fully equipped with the latest and greatest in computerized fish finding, navigational and communications equipment.  She'll take you to the reefs to deep drop for Red Snapper & Grouper, patrol the beaches for Giant Cobia & Tarpon, and is equally capable of fishing the inshore estuaries in search of Redfish and Speckled Trout.

Charter includes:  Rod, reels, live, dead & artificial bait, tackle, fishing licenses, sodas & water, ice, fish cleaning & bagging and no fish no pay guarantee.  Our professional and friendly attitude is free of charge.
