Captain Ron Schurr is a professional fishing guide living in Jacksonville Florida.  Ron has been fishing and guiding in Northeast Florida since 1985.  Capt. Ron is a native Floridian and grew up in Melbourne Florida fishing for trout, snook and redfish in the Indian and Banana rivers. Ron quickly discovered that backwaters of Northeast Florida presented many challenges such as tidal fluctuations, often as much as 5 feet, miles of marshes, shallow tidal creeks and oyster bars and changes in water temperature and salinity.

Since 1985, Capt Ron has become one of the most accomplished and skilled
inshore fishing guides in Jacksonville and St Augustine.

Coverage Area:  The waters in and around Jacksonville, east to the beaches, Fernandina, Amelia Island, St. Augustine and Fort Matanzas.

Charters can be scheduled from any of the boat ramps on the St. Johns River from the Jacksonville Landing located downtown to Sisters Creek on Heckscher Drive. Those staying in the downtown area can be picked up on the water at the Jacksonville Landing or surrounding River Walk docks. Customers' convenience and fishing preferences will determine departure site.  "On the water" pick-up and drop-off locations can be arranged for anywhere in the Jacksonville area south to Fort Matanzas.  As always, weather, tides and "Where the hot bite is located" shall play a role in determining a water pick-up and drop-off location.

Species Targeted:    Capt. Ron targets all species of fish in NE Florida. With 8 top ten tournament finishes; trout, redfish, and flounder are his specialties.

Sight Seeing & Nature Tours:  Nestled along the St. John’s River are some of NE Florida’s most beautiful estuaries. Your private adventure will take you through these areas where you can view or photograph wildlife from the comfort of Capt. Ron’s Key West "Stealth".  Maximum of four sight-seeing passengers. 

Maximum Anglers:   Three.  Maximum of two for fly-fishing, unless wading. 

Boat:  Capt. Ron is proud to be a part of the Key West Pro Staff. His 2004 1800 "Stealth" is powered by a 115 hp Mercury engine. The superior hull of this "Stealth"  places you in a safe, comfortable ride while giving you the ability to pursue your trophy catch in less than 9 inches of water.
